How does Spritulus work?

First, create your game assets either using our library of SVG parts, or by importing your own custom SVG artwork. You can then assemble these parts into animated sprites using our template-based animation system.

Next, use these sprites to build out your game using our code generation tools. Choose from a variety of game styles and parameters. Once your game is ready, you can download the full JavaScript source code for deployment or further customization.

Finally, you can either publish your game as is, or modify the source code to add your own unique features and enhancements.

Want to create your own art style?

While we offer a library of existing SVG parts, everything within Spritulus is customizable, including templates and animations.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Spritulus?

Spritulus is a no-code/low-code 2D game development platform. Indie game developers and artists can create assets, animations, and fully exportable games without extensive programming knowledge or artistry.

To avoid producing slop and to allow for advanced creations, everything is editable, from the re-usable SVG parts to the generated source code.

What sort of game assets can I create?

Leveraging our ever-growing library of SVG parts and templates, you can create animated 2D sprites for characters and props, background environments, tileable parts, and more.

You can also create keyframe animations based on templates, or build your own animation templates to speed up your workflow.

What kind of games can I make?

For advanced developers, you can build out the structure for almost any game type, to jump start your development process.

For those less familiar with coding, you can create ready-to-publish 1v1 fighter, endless runner, and flappy flight game types using our code generation tools.

Once your game is created, you can download the full JavaScript source code for deployment or further customization.

Do I need coding experience to use Spritulus?

No coding experience is necessary to create sprites and basic games using our platform. However, having some programming knowledge can be beneficial if you wish to further customize the generated game code.
